Interacting with your items


This page details all of the different actions you can take with your items. Click the links below to see information about:

Adding items

The following process shows how to add items (if you are in your Portfolio or in your Appraisal).

Please note: if you add an item to your Portfolio you must import it into your appraisal if you want your appraiser to see it

To add an item:

  • Click the item type in your left navigation bar
  • Click the  link at the top of the table (in Quality Improvement, click  then select type from the drop down list)
  • Complete the Details tab
  • Upload Click any supporting documents into the Documents tab and click 

The Six Cs tab allows you to map your item against the Six Cs. Simply tick the boxes next to the competencies you wish to link this item to and click

Uploading documents


Documents can be uploaded and attached to your evidence items. There is a file size limit of 10mb, but you can upload as many documents as you want. 

To upload a document:

  • Add a new item and complete the details tab (remember to click )

  • Click Upload an attachment
  • Enter a description and select your document type
  • Click 
  • Select the file from your computer and double click it to upload. 
  • Click

Importing items into your appraisal

If you have added items to your Portfolio and want to include them in your appraisal you can import them so you don’t have to enter all of the information again.

To import items from different sections in bulk:

  • Go to your Appraisal Dashboard and click  at the bottom of the page or “Import From Portfolio” in the tools section of your left navigation bar.
  • Filter the list by clicking “all Items” or “Within Appraisal Year"

  • Tick the boxes to the left of any items you want to add to this appraisal ()  
  • Click 


To import items according to evidence type:

  • Click on the evidence type in your left navigation bar
  • If you have items in your Portfolio that fall within this appraisal period and can be imported, you will see a purple “Import” button. The number shown in brackets is the number of items you can import.
  • Tick the boxes to the right of any items you want to import then click 
  • The item(s) will appear in your appraisal instantly so you can view/edit the items and complete your reflections.

Viewing your items

To view an item:

  • Click  in the drop down menu in the Actions column

  • Click  to return to the overview page

Editing your items

To edit an item:

  • Click  in the drop down menu in the Actions column

  • Click  when you have made your changes. 
  • Click  to return to the overview page

Deleting and removing items

  • Click  in the drop down menu to the right of the item
  • Click  at the top of the page to return to the overview page.

If you are viewing the item in your appraisal the option will be to Remove the item. Clicking this will remove the item from your appraisal but it will still be available in your Portfolio to import at a later date.
