 How will it work?

Each learning note in a MIMS Learning user’s CPD Organiser (http://www.mimslearning.co.uk/organiser/my-notes/) will now display an “Add To Clarity” button. Clicking this (or touching it, on a mobile device) will export the note to the user’s appraisal toolkit portfolio and their current open appraisal.

The first time you attempt to export a note Clarity will ask for your Clarity & RCGP Appraisal Toolkit for GPs login details. This will ensure the note is sent securely to the correct account. You will also be asked to give permission for MIMS Learning to communicate with the appraisal toolkit. Thereafter, each note can be exported with a single click.

 Exactly what information is transferred?

For each MIMS Learning note, any notes you have written reflecting on your learning will be transferred along with the type of learning, the number of CPD credits being claimed, and any certificate attached to the note.

 How much will it cost?

MIMS Learning is completely free. However you can upgrade to MIMS Learning Essentials, a premium subscription package from MIMS Learning, providing up-to-date coverage on clinical guidance for GPs and primary healthcare professionals. It is a combination of online guidelines updates and live learning events taking place in London, Manchester and Bristol in June worth a total of 50 CPD points a year.

How secure are my personal details?

No personal details are transferred. The first time you attempt to export a note from MIMS Learning to the appraisal toolkit you will be asked separately to log in to your toolkit account and give permission for MIMS Learning to communicate with it.  What about CPD activities I undertake independently of MIMS Learning?

The MIMS Learning CPD Organiser allows you to record notes and evidence of any CPD activities, not just activities undertaken directly on MIMS Learning. You can record notes and evidence of meetings you attend, independent learning, training courses, critical reading and many other types of CPD. These notes can then be transferred to your appraisal toolkit account just as easily as your MIMS Learning activities.

How do I create my own notes in the CPD Organiser?

To create your own notes in the Organiser, go to the My Notes page in the Organiser and then click on the ADD A NOTE button.

Then create a title for your note in the Title field, add the number of CPD credits you are claiming in the Credits field, select the type of CPD you are recording and type your reflection in the main text area. You can also attach documents in PDF format by clicking on the ADD ATTACHMENT button.

Can I re-export notes to the Appraisal Toolkit?
