Introduction
Welcome to the December 2016 issue of the Clarity Assure eBulletin. It contains the latest news and advice relating to the Quality Improvement Service for the North East.
Sepsis Definitions
Following the publication of the NICE sepsis guideline in September 2016, the answer options for the severity of sepsis (question 5) have been updated to reflect Trusts gradually changing to the new sepsis definitions.
(2) relates to the previous definition and (3) relates to the new NICE definition, also referred to as SEPSIS 3. SEPSIS 3 now classifies sepsis as either sepsis, infection, red flag sepsis or septic shock. Therefore the answer values have changed as follows:-
Sepsis | Sepsis (2) / Infection (3) |
Severe sepsis | Severe sepsis (2) / Sepsis (3) |
Neutropenic Sepsis
The Neutropenic Sepsis report has been updated as follows:
Corrections have been made to the median calculations (previously this was not calculating correctly but was not possible to identify this prior to data being inputted)
The report now looks at Sepsis Diagnosis Date/Time instead of Arrival Date/Time
UDF fields are no longer included in this report
These changes will be applied from October 2015 discharges.
Assure Mailing Lists
The mailing lists used by Clarity Informatics for the Assure system are linked to the user accounts.
It is imperative that active users of Assure are included in the mailing list and do not unsubscribe from these mailings as the lists are used to communicate any changes made to the Assure system, measure sets and user support.
Unsubscribing from the mailing list whilst still requiring access to Assure will mean that your experience of using the Assure system will be diminished.
Should you no longer require access to Assure please contact us to request your access be removed, we will then deactive your Assure account and remove you from the mailing list.
Trust Reports
Due to the slow response times when running Trust Reports for large amounts of data (e.g. running data for a whole year for all CFAs) a new Trust Report Export version has been released. This enables just the data from the reports to be shown without the graphs and bar charts which enables large data to be returned more efficiently.
Christmas Support Hours
Clarity Informatics would like to wish all Assure users a wonderful festive period and best wishes for 2017.
User support will continue to be provided between 09:00 and 17:00 on the working days throughout the Christmas period but no support will be available on the bank holidays.
