Frequently asked questions

Expand
titleCan I see the evidence used in writing the topic?

For those who are particularly interested in the clinical evidence base we welcome feedback on the evidence that our authors have chosen to include or exclude. We can provide the reference list for you to look at if you are interested.

titleHow many topics will I be reviewing?

The amount of work you wish to put in is entirely down to you. We have a number of reviewers who provide feedback on everything we send out; we also have plenty of people who pick and choose what they'd like to review. If you let us know that you're interested in reviewing anything available it doesn't mean we expect you to comment on everything, we'll just be giving you the option to review a topic when it is available.

If you have a particular interest or experience in a certain topic then we're more than happy to keep your details and only send you drafts of topics that you've indicated you are interested in.

titleWhat do I get out of it?

The reviews have to be done voluntarily for two reasons:

  1. While Clarity produce the clinical content, the project is funded by NICE and so we are unable to offer monetary compensation
  2. We need your honest, unbiased opinions of the work you are revewing. A financial incentive could potentially influence the feedback we receive

We recognise the contributions of all of our volunteers and would credit you on the NICE CKS website

The role can also be added to your CV and we are more than happy to provide a certificate and letter confirming your involvement.
